WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING: OCT 7TH – OCT 13TH

Another week is over and what do I have to say for it? I’ve continued my James Bond watching as well as my mini-unofficial-Horror-Marathon (don’t ask me why that’s all hyphenated). I’m getting more and more bummed out that it seems my theatre won’t be showing Sinister or Perks of Being a Wallflower, two films I’ve been looking forward to a while, and I’m still eagerly awaiting the local release of Looper so I can go watch that movie again. Otherwise this week was as normal (i.e. work, movies, sleep, rinse, wash, repeat).

So this is what I’ve been watching this week:

FIRST TIME WATCHED

TAKEN 2 (2012) – bad writing and average (and too few) action sequences for an unnecessary sequel.
HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA (2012) – too silly to be anymore than a ‘only for kids’ film that I probably shouldn’t have seen.
DRACULA (1931) – a boring stage adaptation of the original story that doesn’t enthuse anyone.
FRANKENWEENIE (2012) – Tim Burton returns to form by leashing himself to keep children entertained without getting too weird.
TABLOID (2011) – a great documentary that seeks to entertain more than make any grand point while at the same time discussing the media as it was pre-internet age.

REWATCHED

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1964) “I’m not mad about his tailor, are you?”
GOLDFINGER (1964)“Shocking! Positively shocking!”

THE COUNT

190 First time watches (106 from 2012); 89 Rewatches; 281 Total Films

SONG OF THE WEEK

What’ve You Been Watching?

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

I need to rewatch some classic James Bond myself. Saw Argo, Sinister, End of Watch, Sideways, Before the Devil knows you're dead, Nekromantik, Magic Mike. All were good

You liked End of Watch? I thought it was ok, but lots of problems (mostly due to distracting found footage style). I'm going to see Argo this coming week, looking forward to it as it seems like one of the films that I missed at TIFF that everyone was buzzing about. Loved Magic Mike.

Glad to see you had a great movie week.

End of Watch was ok, only prob was the lack of story. Argo is definitely worth the time and money. Enjoy
