So the weekly Top 5 is back.  And since this week my feature review will be on the new Seth Rogen comedy Pineapple Express I think it’s best to name my Top 5 Stoner films.

I must say this was one of the easiest Top 5’s to make since I had little films for me to cut out after making the list.  So here we go.

FIVE

Here we have the 2001 comedy starring hip-hop duo Method Man and Redman, How High.  One of the two became a real actor who starred in The Wire and The Wackness while Redman went on to just do more street level rap album releases.  But this movie was definitely an enjoyable laugh back when I saw it in my final years of high school.

FOUR

Back in 1998, before he did the Dave Chappelle Show he starred in a pretty funny stoner comedy called Half Baked.  Dave Chappelle and his two friends make up some crazy schemes to get their friend out of jail.  And most of them never work due to the fact that they’re always high as a “paper planes”.  Love it.

THREE

Friday has got to get a mention here.  I watched this over recently finding the movie worthy of the Top 5.  Ice Cube and Chris Tucker [one of the most annoying actors ever]  need to find some cash to pay their dope dealer back after owing him for a good smoke.

TWO

“Littering and… littering and…”  WOW this movie is hilarious.  I still say it isn’t quite as funny as the Broken Lizard’s Beerfest, but Super Troopers was amazing.  I couldn’t help but die laughing as you see these crew of misfit Highway Patrol Officers engage each other and get into fights with the local city cops.

ONE

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle was one my most guilty of guilty pleasures in 2004.  Even though I did watch the sequel this summer, I didn’t review it because I was so sad at how disappointed I was by it and wanted to go back to the days when NPH stole Roldy’s car to get some poon.  I love this movie for it’s silliness and how it doesn’t try too hard.  It just has this mellow like tone/pace that makes you enjoy it.  And then you laugh at the fact, that all these guy’s want are some friggin’ burgers.
