Today it was pointed out to me that there’s a new movie with Christopher Walken out, so here’s the trailer and poster for the movie below:

SYNOPSIS: Over the summer of 1976, thirty-six bombs detonate in the heart of Cleveland while a turf war raged between Irish mobster Danny Greene (Ray Stevenson) and the Italian mafia.  Based on a true story, KILL THE IRISHMAN chronicles Greene’s heroic rise from a tough Cleveland neighborhood to become an enforcer in the local mob.  Turning the tables on loan shark Shondor Birns (Christopher Walken) and allying himself with gangster John Nardi (Vincent D’Onofrio), Greene stops taking orders from the mafia and pursues his own power. Surviving countless assassination attempts from the mob and killing off anyone who went after him in retaliation, Danny Greene’s infamous invincibility and notorious fearlessness eventually led to the collapse of mafia syndicates across the U.S. and also earned him the status of the man the mob couldn’t kill.

Written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and also starring Val Kilmer, Paul Sorvino and Linda Cardellini, KILL THE IRISHMAN is inspired by Rick Porello’s true crime account “To Kill The Irishman: The War That Crippled The Mafia.”

Release date: March 11, 2011 (limited)

Personally I have to say that this trailer looks like a load of rubbish. The film seems like it’s all for the explosions and no realy story to tell. I know it says based on a true story but with the addition of cast like Christopher Walken and Paul Sorvino to add more Italian to the screen so that mafia has a bigger presence, it feels like the movie is going to run itself into the horrible wall of cliche more than once during the runtime and I’m just going to want to hope someone had attached a bomb to my seat.

What you think of the movie?

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

  • Geez. Val Kilmer has really let himself go.

    • Yes he has… to think I actually like him in MacGruber enough to think that's been his best role for the last few years
