TOP TEN MOST ANTICIPATED SUMMER FILMS OF 2012

5. Brave (June 22)

Last year was Pixar’s sabbatical from making good movies. I pray that they’ve enjoyed their rest and are back with what seems to be a fun adventure film. Part of me isn’t sure they’ll pull it off (the story does seem a little too cheesy), but I will hold faith.

4. The Amazing Spider-Man (July 3)

While many ask the question of “why reboot so soon?” I ignore and just realize that Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer) is getting to direct a Spider-Man movie and we’ll finally get the lizard as a villain. People are so quick to through up the why question to Hollywood (and I know I’ve done my fair share) but I feel in the comic book world it’s kind of dumb to bother. How many iterations of the Superman world exist in the DV universe, or even Spider-Man in Marvel? A lot is the answer. So sit down and enjoy.

3. Moonrise Kingdom (May 25)

Yes, art beats explosions any day. Over the years me and Wes Anderson have had our issues. However, the few times that we come together in agreement (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox) we agree so much that I’m willing to always give him a try. The trailer reeks of Anderson‘s quirk, I can only hope it’s the kind that I’ll love.

2. The Dark Knight Rises (July 20)

I’m going to go ahead and just say that this is pretty much an automatic selection. Christopher Nolan pretty much brought comic book movies back into the zeitgeist by making them the greatest thing since sliced bread and made an action movie where it was more than just an average action movie. This’ll be the second film that I see in IMAX and can’t wait for that day.

1. Prometheus (June 8 )

I’m sorry Batman but somehow Ridley Scott has slowly won this round of anticipation. Between the TED trailer, as well as the great cuts of trailers for this film nothing can beat how highly I’m anticipating the return of the Alien franchise.

What’re You Looking Forward To This Summer?

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
