THE 2015 TALLY: WEEK 3 (17/1/15 – 23/1/15)

time

It’s another week out and the blog got super neglected. While I definitely made some headway with a post that I’m hoping to tidy up tomorrow for a midweek publish I definitely failed to produce this week. I did get The Movies You Love up again with the latest episode where I talked to Shane about The Graduate as well as a post about podcasting where my friend decided to hit me up for tips and tricks of the trade which oddly enough lots of people loved to my surprise. Not like I thought I knew a thing or too.

But for this week to come my only thoughts is that it’s time for me to wrap up my Borzage thoughts for you guys. I have one (maybe two) other films of his I want to watch — may get that out of the way tomorrow — before I start writing what I want to say, but let me say I may have bit off more than I can chew on this project. But let’s see where it takes me. That and more podcasting work. I already have my next Movies  You Love shows planned and I’m considering season-alizing it. Make it into 10 episode sprints and take a break after to sprint again. It could make planning a lot better and who knows.

Anyways here’s the weekly tally guys.

 New To Me

THE GAMBLER

Love is Strange (2014) – It’s like a warm blanket this kind of love.
Time (2006) – This kind of love is not warm at all…
The Gambler (2014) – Love the rhythm and the dialogues enough that I’m not ready to rip this to shreds yet.
Diary of a Pregnant Woman (1958) – It’s French, It’s Short, and it’s pregnant. I dunno.
Laggies (2014) – when tall children aren’t cute anymore.
A Farewell to Arms (1932) – Just didn’t care honestly.
Blackhat (2015) – I didn’t care even more…

Rewatched

certified copy

Certified Copy (2010) – Comparing these to Before movies is dumb, but it’s sort of better.
Upstream Color (2013) – It’s like a weird melody whenever I watch this movie.
Mystic River (2003) – let’s stop cutting Eastwood so much slack people.
Starred Up (2014) – Even better the second time around.

The Tally

Total Films Released in 2015: 3
Total New To Me Films in 2015 19
Total Films Seen in 2015: 26

What’d you see this week?

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
