THE 2015 TALLY: WEEK 15 (4/4/15 – 10/4/15)

mommy

With the blog’s return to the world of all things interneting this past week I feel it’s important to bring this little thing back up to speed. While I won’t waste my time updating you on the entire last 2+ months of forgotten watches I’ll just stick to the week at hand.

This week however has brought a lot of thoughts to mind. I finally paid for an exam that will push me closer to a life goal I’ve been wanting to do for the last two years, though it’s no definite end product it’s a step in a process. Nothing is promised, I just am continually trying things until something works, or the world beats my optimistic hopes that doing this will be good for me into the ground. And before you ask, yes I’m being intentionally vague about what this goal is for now. I feel it best not to say what it is (at least in this public a venue) especially since it’s not only not a promised path but theoretically a long path to getting to the end point.

New To Me

bound

Bound (1996) – When sex thriller means a good thing
The Tale of Princess Kaguya (2014) – Holy shit was this gorgeous… and boring
F For Fake (1973) – new contender for favourite ever, with some more time on it I think I could be.
Mommy (2014) – I welcome one more filmmaker to my super interested column, and new desire to watch all his work.
Actress (2014) – I think I’ve said enough on this one already
A Most Violent Year (2014) – It’s the best non-mob-mob movie I’ve seen from last year.

Rewatched

fast five

Videodrome (1983) – Rick Baker = fun times
Fast Five (2011) – Still my favourite of the franchise. Most focused narrative to keep the action flowing.
Furious 6 (2013) – It’s gotten better since I last saw this one.

The Tally

Total Films Released in 2015: 17
Total New To Me Films in 2015 79
Total Films Seen in 2015: 114

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
