This week I plan on completing a Steven Soderbergh Marathon, which I will call The Soderbergh Series, of watching and reviewing six of his films that I’ve always wanted to see but never have. This is an effort for me to increase my already lacking knowledge of film and also to possibly introduce others to some films that Soderbergh may have done that does start with the word Ocean in the title. Today’s Soderbergh Series has me watch me watching The Limey. (more…)

Addicted to the Tube has returned. I know it has been a long while since I blogged but since the people in charge of gmanReviews are having problems sending my paycheck I had to find myself a job, which kept me very busy. It is the time of year when we get ready for season returns. I plan to do as many reviews as possible. The first on my list is the Showtime hit, Dexter. Season 4 of Dexter is scheduled to air September 27th. (more…)

Here is Tony Scott’s remake of the 1974 film of the same name, except that one had words instead of numbers in the title, and I must say that Mr. Scott had a tough job to update this movie without making it completely ridiculous. The film is about Ryder [John Travolta] who decides to take a group of individuals and take a train hostage in the New York subway system and demand ten million dollars from the city. Walter Garber [Denzel Washington] is the guy who is on the dispatch line at the Metro Control Centre and gets mixed up in this hostage situation. (more…)

John Koestler [Nicolas Cage] happens upon this paper that has spent five decades below the surface of the earth in a time capsule at his son’s school. After staring at the paper long enough he realizes a familiar number and begins to form a theory about the page filled with what would seem to be a random string of integers to the layman. A full night later without sleep and lots of research he proves that the entire page has predicted every disaster/incident that has happened for the last fifty years where a mass number of people are killed perfectly with the date and amount of people that will die. He also notices that there are three more predictions left on the page. (more…)
