George Simmons [Adam Sandler] is a popular comedian and actor who just found out that he has a rare type of cancer and will probably die. This forces him to look back on his life and realise that he has become lonely and unable to connect with another human being. Susan [Reese Witherspoon] has been hit by a meteor at her wedding. After surviving the incident minutes later she erupts into Ginormica [i.e. The 50-foot woman], and is captured by the government and stored in a facility with other monsters. General W. R. Monger [Kiefer Sutherland] is the warden of this facility where it also houses creatures such as: B.O.B. [Seth Rogen], Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. [Hugh Laurie], The Missing Link [Will Arnett] and Insectosaurus. Gallaxhar [Rainn Wilson] is an alien seeking the energy from that previously mentioned meteor, Quantonium, and has sent out a huge friggin’ machine to get it. Dale [Seth Rogen] goes out to find Ted Jones [Gary Cole] to serve him some legal documents – whilst high – and he witnesses a murder. In a panic he rushes to his dealer’s, Saul [James Franco], place to get some help and figure out what to do. They decide to go on the run from these top tier drug kingpins of the city.
