Robin Hood (2010) [Movie Review]

Robin Longstride (Russell Crowe) is an archer fighting in King Richard The Lionheart’s (Danny Huston) crusades across Europe.  After King Richard dies on the field of battle Robin, along with a few of his compatriots, decide to desert the crusade and return to England.  Upon Robin’s return to England he decides to take the name of Robin of Loxley and rides to Nottingham to complete a task he promised one of his men in arms from the crusade he would.  There he ends up entwined in all the worries of Nottingham and the Loxley estate.  With Prince John (Oscar Isaac) now crowned King of England he has decided that England’s citizens must pay the cost to restore England to its former glory. Kick-Ass [Movie Review]

Dave (Aaron Johnson) fantasizes about one day being a super hero.  So one day he orders a wetsuit on the internet then heads out the street to find crime to fight as Kick Ass.  Along the way he meets some more serious characters like Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz).  Eventually things start to get real and he must step up to the plate to help his friends take down the local mob boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong). Sherlock Holmes [Movie Review]

We meet Sherlock Holmes [Robert Downey Jr.] as he has caught Lord Blackwood [Mark Strong] in the act of attempting to murder his very next victim.  Lord Blackwood is then sent to jail and hanged.  However, shortly after there are words of Lord Blackwood being back from the dead and powerful men are being murdered all across London.  Holmes must solve this mystery along with his friend Dr. Watson [Jude Law]. RockNRolla [Movie Review]

So it’s been a while I suppose since I’ve really drooled over a movie. Possibly Taken was the last movie that I enjoyed this much, and after the utter disappointment that was Quantum of Solace this movie was the right pick me up I needed. Guy Ritchie returns with some new tricks up his sleeve for his newest movie, RockNRolla.

Now as with Ritchie’s more popular movies [i.e. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch] the movie follows a few different characters who all end up knocking heads together by end of the flick, and of course this all involves the British Underworld. In this edition of Ritchie’s ‘how to’ guide for the anglo-gangster we get to observe a few groups of characters.
