Four Christmases [Movie Review]

fourchristmasespic2

So here out of nowhere comes this really funny movie that you just didn’t see coming. I mean, it follows all the rules that make it look like it will be the run of the mill movie that will just try to cash in on the holiday season. Just like slasher movies have taken over October, and Blockbusters have taken over the summer, we will always get a movie that embodies all that is Christmas – or the Christmas experience – during the Christmas holidays. This movie is that, but at the same time really good. This movie is really about this couple who have now been forced to face one of their greatest fears, that is their families during the holidays.

RockNRolla [Movie Review]

Friday, November 21st, 2008

So it’s been a while I suppose since I’ve really drooled over a movie. Possibly Taken was the last movie that I enjoyed this much, and after the utter disappointment that was Quantum of Solace this movie was the right pick me up I needed. Guy Ritchie returns with some new tricks up his sleeve for his newest movie, RockNRolla.

Now as with Ritchie’s more popular movies [i.e. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch] the movie follows a few different characters who all end up knocking heads together by end of the flick, and of course this all involves the British Underworld. In this edition of Ritchie’s ‘how to’ guide for the anglo-gangster we get to observe a few groups of characters.

Quantum of Solace [Movie Review]

I can say that this feels like a pretty nostalgic moment for me. For those of you who know me personally know that I started writing reviews about two years ago on facebook, you can go back on my profile and see all the old ones there still, and the first post I made was about Casino Royale [2006]. So this is slightly refreshing to be revisiting this new Bond franchise with its newest episode which is a direct sequel of the 2006 reboot.

So I usually write a short synopsis for the movie’s plot when I review it, but since my first issue with this movie is the plot I’m going to skip that bit. If you’ve seen the good Bond, Casino Royale, then this is the direct sequel of that movie.
