Persepolis [International] [Movie Review]

This film is the animated adaptation of a graphic novel by the same name. It is an autobiographical film [and novel] about a young Iranian girl, Marjane Satrapi (Chiara Matroianni), growing up during the revolution. She is a very open minded girl who believes in freedom, in a country that doesn’t offer it to women. She has to be sent away to France so that she will not be arrested over some argument with an official. (more…)

In Bruges [Movie Review]

Two hit-men from London are told to hide out in Bruges (it’s in Belgium) after a job and wait for a call from their boss. Ken (Brendan Gleeson) and Ray (Colin Farrell) play the two hit-men. The two of them argue and make a piss about being in the middle of gothic medieval Europe while they try as best to enjoy what they can most of the town waiting for the call from the boss.
