WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING: SEPT 28 – OCT 4

Big Trouble in Little China

This week has a lot less films seen than I guessed to be honest. I’ve been pushing myself through a whole slew of films and more and more I’m seeing myself stray away from watching 2013 titles, I don’t know why.

Otherwise it’s an interesting week where I began my October Horror Marathon that I’ll be chronicling on a weekly (probably more often) basis here and look forward to discover a reason to keep looking forward to horror films or just affirm my childish decision that they’re not very scary anyways.

But moving on, this is my week of cinema:

MUD (2013) – children realize that adults are full of shit in 2 hours
THE KINGS OF SUMMER (2013) – children start out knowing adults are shit then spend 90 mins discovering their own manhood
REPULSION (1965) – wow… Lynch must’ve loved this
BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974) – great to be paired with Carpenter’s Halloween
THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE (2001) – more movies where adults suck ass
REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE (1955) – Why can’t parents be good in movies!!!
NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1957) – Run from the smoke you fool!!! Why did people make noir horror films in the 50s? I honestly don’t know

REWATCHED

DETENTION“you’re more concept than reality”
DRINKING BUDDIES“That’s the problem with heartbreak, to you it’s like an atomic bomb and to the world it’s just really cliche, because in the end we all have the same experience.”
THE RAID“Pulling a trigger is like ordering a takeout.”
BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA“Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it.””

My count for the year of 2013 is updated to 225 First time watches (123 from 2013); 146 Rewatches; 371 Total Films

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
