Cool Stuff: [the films of] Wes Anderson

A while back a shared a fantastic montage of Danny Boyle’s films by this same individual and now he’s decided to tackle the peculiar nature of Wes Anderson in his latest montage which, while I have some issues here and there with some of his films, this montage is pretty fantastic. Watch the video below:

What do you think of the Wes Anderson’s films?

Wes Anderson is one of my favorite filmmakers. In fact, of the six films he’s released so far. I’ve seen the last 3 in theaters. One of which was a special screening of “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” where I won a Zissou beanie. I have four of his films on DVD (via Criterion) as I hope to have “Rushmore” (my favorite of his films) on DVD (via Criterion with an upgraded look) and wait for “Fantastic Mr. Fox” to be on Criterion.

I love the look of his films. The soundtracks he assembles and the characters he creates. They’re quirky yet they feel so real for me. I’m kind of a quirky individual myself. I can see why people aren’t into his films and that’s OK. I can understand that. For me, there is something out of this world about the films he makes. I’m definitely anticipating “Mongoose Kingdom” when it comes out next year.

I just found out about mongoose Kingdom… I do like Rushmore, love Fantastic Mr Fox & The Royal Tenenbaums…

I feel like I should revisit his movies, maybe I’ll appreciate them more now.. even Darjeeling which I hated so much.
