My Thoughts: Here comes a children’s movie and one that isn’t made by Pixar, Watching the trailer I can tell that it is going to be more of the generic Saturday morning cartoon variety of a movie rather than anything else. I’m not going to watch it, but at the same time I would think that anyone taking their child to the cinema would definitely check this one out.
Precious

Directed by: Lee Daniels
Written by: Geoffrey Fletcher & Saphire
Starring: Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique, Paula Patton & Mariah Carey
Synopsis: Claireece Precious Jones endures unimaginable hardships in her young life. Abused by her mother, raped by her father, she grows up poor, angry, illiterate, fat, unloved and generally unnoticed. So what better way to learn about her than through her own, halting dialect.
Trailer:
My Thoughts: Now this film debuted earlier this year at Sundance and ended up winning the Audience Award, Special Jury Prize and Grand Jury Prize. I’ve heard constant chatter about this movie and how heavy and heartfelt it is. I can’t wait to see it, because I’ve been waiting for a while this year to see a movie that more than likely will give me some Academy Award caliber acting and what might be the first story this year I see on screen that will make me want to cry.
So what are you going to see this week?
