This week in theatrical film goings in Jamaica is:
Zombieland

Directed by: Ruben Fleischer
Written by: Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson & Emma Stone
Synopsis:In the horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss — but when you’re afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying’ bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

My Thoughts: Here is one of those movies that come once a year that takes a genre and decides to make it into a complete joke in a good way. I can’t wait to see it. It comes out in the same vain as Shaun of the Dead one of my favourite parodies of the last decade. Even though I doubt this will usurp Shaun of the Dead but at the same time I expect to have a ball watching it.
Land of the Lost

Directed by: Brad Silberling
Written by: Chris Henchy & Dennis McNicholas
Starring: Will Ferrell, Anna Friel & Danny McBride
Synopsis: On his latest expedition, Dr. Rick Marshall is sucked into a space-time vortex alongside his research assistant and a redneck survivalist. In this alternate universe, the trio make friends with a primate named Chaka, their only ally in a world full of dinosaurs and other fantastic creatures.

My Thoughts: I’ve been quite interested in this movie since seeing the trailer hit the internet because I think this is a film that is one of those that will work perfectly into the character that Will Ferrell always plays and I will never stop being. However, this is one I’m going to have to skip at the theatre since its been out on DVD for the last two weeks already. So once again Amazon defeats my local theatre.
So what are you planning on seeing this week at the theatre?
