This week I plan on completing a Steven Soderbergh Marathon, which I will call The Soderbergh Series, of watching and reviewing six of his films that I’ve always wanted to see but never have. This is an effort for me to increase my already lacking knowledge of film and also to possibly introduce others to some films that Soderbergh may have done that does start with the word Ocean in the title. Today’s Soderbergh Series has me watch me watching The Good German. (more…)

The film based on the novel The Accidental Billionaires that was based on the founding of the popular social networking website Facebook has received some casting updates. David Fincher, who is directing the film, has finally decided on most of the leading cast. Jesse Eisenberg [also from Adventureland and Zombieland] will be playing Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Timerberlake [also from Black Snake Moan and Southland Tales] will be playing Sean Parker – a founding president of the corporation – and Andrew Garfield [also from Boy A] will be playing Eduardo Saverin – another founding president who helped create the project with Zuckerberg and eventually had a falling out with Zuckerberg. Flint Lockwood [Bill Hader] has always wanted to be a great inventor. He has invented many things, but none of them work or turn out the way he wants them to. One day when his town falls to economic problems and everyone is made to eat sardines he decides to invent a machine that converts water into any food he wants; and it works. However – as expected by a story like this – eventually everything goes out of control and Flint must save the town from his own creation. (more…)
