Ridley Scott attached to direct the Alien prequel
July 31st, 2009by Andrew Robinson

It’s been reported that Ridley Scott [also directed films such as Blade Runner and Black Hawk Down] has been attached to direct the upcoming prequel for the Alien franchise. The screenplay is currently being written by Jon Spaihts. It has been three decades since the first Alien film was released, which was directed by Ridley Scott, and with many people curious as to what kind of prequel we can be expecting it is just exciting to hear that Ridley is back on the franchise that he started.
My main question is who will play the role of the younger Ellen Ripley? Is this going have a tie in to the original Alien film with an Ellen Ripley story? I think it would be best for Ridley to stay away from the original film, except for the fact that aliens exist. I would be slightly interested in seeing how the alien ship crash lands on that planet that we see in the original Alien film. However, that makes the ending more than predictable, it would make it a guarantee. I’m not sure what storyline would make for a satisfying prequel, but I look forward to seeing what they have in store for me here.
How do you feel about this prequel and Ridley Scott directing it?
