So here we are again. MC was the winner of last weeks post which was from last year’s amazing comedy Sex Drive. I do believe that one was real easy so this week I think I have one that’s “not too hard but not too soft” just like something that you get a shit detail in the Platoon (more…)

John Koestler [Nicolas Cage] happens upon this paper that has spent five decades below the surface of the earth in a time capsule at his son’s school. After staring at the paper long enough he realizes a familiar number and begins to form a theory about the page filled with what would seem to be a random string of integers to the layman. A full night later without sleep and lots of research he proves that the entire page has predicted every disaster/incident that has happened for the last fifty years where a mass number of people are killed perfectly with the date and amount of people that will die. He also notices that there are three more predictions left on the page. (more…)

So recently Nick Cage has been getting a well earned rep for being a horrible actor who tends to overdo all of his roles. Which I don’t want to deny, but I still say that he is a 50/50 actor for me since he on occasion will surprise me with some good acting/roles. And with the release of Alex Proyas’ newest film starring Nicolas Cage [which I plan to see tonight] I felt like sharing the best and the worst of Nick Cage’s career that I’ve been able to see so far. So I guess I picked a tough one last week when I put up this screenshot from one of my favourite movies of 2007, Charlie Wilson’s War. The screenshot comes from the scene with the bellydancer. The shot is of the bellydancer at the beginning of that scene coming into the light, I thought it was a wonderful scene and a particularly memorable shot. (more…)

What would you say if I told you that one of the most prestigious and farthest reaching financial institutions in the world was using your money for heavy arms dealing and all other sorts of shady business? Well this is what Interpol agents Louis Salinger [Clive Owen] and Eleanor Whitman [Naomi Watts] believe and they are after the truth. (more…)

So today I had a complete OMFG because I was reading my RSS Reader and when I got around to seeing what new was being posted on YardEdge only to see an advertisement for these series of special screenings going on in Kingston titled “Movies they never show in Jamaica” being presented by The Afflicted Yard. I’m so happy that someone is finally doing something to allow for smaller films in Jamaica, I’m so trying to find a way to get to go tomorrow night. I wished they had given more forward notice. So here I am, two days after seeing on screen one of the most revered graphic novels come to life and I have the horrible task to try and give you my thoughts on the film without making it seem completely biased. Now I’m not going to lie to you, I hadn’t even heard of this book until the first trailer hit the internet, but since then I’ve read the book three times already and I love it. I knew going in that there was no way this movie would do for comic book films what Sin City did. There is no way that Zack Snyder could put every single panel on the screen without making the entire movie a slideshow – and if that’s what you want you can get it on amazon. However, there is no way I can down talk what a great adaptation this movie is of the book. (more…)
