So I decided, since I go to so many movies nowadays that for once I’ll go against my instincts and take my younger brother out to see this new Street Fighter film – Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. I knew this movie was going to be horrible however, I must say that I left the theatre with a feeling like I had got more than I expected, which I guess is not hard with what little expectations I began the night with. I still thought the movie was bad, but I ended up enjoying a little more than half of the fight scenes – mostly the first half – in a little guilty pleasure kind of way and I even thought that Michael Clarke Duncan fit the role of Balrog.

Here is another remake coming out. I’ve never seen the original but after looking up some information on it and finding out that the original starred Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw I’m somewhat interested in that, but the trailer for this version starring John Travolta and Denzel Washington just looks aweful. The uninitiated director Samuel Bayer has been hired to direct the upcoming reboot of The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise for Michael Bay’s production company, Platinum Dunes, and New Line. Wesley Strick has been reported to be working on the screenplay, he has also written screenplays for Aracnophobia, Cape Fear and Doom.

It was reported today that Christopher Nolan has been given the green-light by Warner Bros. to go ahead and begin working on his newest project Inception. This film is based on an original screenplay written by Nolan himself. The film should be in theatres for us all to see in the summer of 2010.
